María Clara de Greiff Lara

Is a Colombian-Mexican independent journalist, having received her B.A. in Humanities from the Universidad de las Américas Puebla and her M.A. in Latin American Literature from the Universidad Iberoamericana Golfo Centro.

She has taught both literature and communications for various Puebla universities, and she coordinated the rst diploma course in cultural journalism with the Universidad del Altiplano de Tlaxcala.

She has been a collaborator, essayist, and columnist for many newspapers and magazines, including El Financiero, El Nacional, El Columnista, E-Consulta, Revista de Cine Kinetoscopio, and Connexion-W Houston, among others.

She has written prologues for over 15 books from the editorial house, México Soy.

In 1996, she was awarded the Mexican National Award of Journalism. In April 2021, she received a Faculty Research Award from The Leslie Center for the Humanities at Dartmouth College to write the book Hands that Speak: Voices From the Upper Valley Dairy Farms. In March of 2022, the Of ce of Institutional Diversity and Equity of Dartmouth College granted her the Holly Fell Sateia Award for her leadership and commitment to social justice.

Currently, she serves as the Live-In Advisor to La Casa Living Learning Community and as a Spanish professor for the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Dartmouth College. Additionally, she is a co-founder of the FUERZA Farmworkers’ Fund organization, conceived to support the urgent needs, livelihoods, and wellbeing of the migrant communities of the dairy farms of the Upper Valley.

Es una periodista independiente colombo-mexicana, egresada de la Licenciatura en Humanidades por la Universidad de las Américas Puebla y de la Maestría en Letras Iberoamericanas por la Universidad Iberoamericana Golfo-Centro.

Ha trabajado como docente en áreas de literatura y ciencias de la comunicación para varias universidades de Puebla y coordinó el Primer Diplomado en Periodismo Cultural en la Universidad del Altiplano de Tlaxcala.

Ha sido colaboradora, ensayista y columnista en periódicos y revistas como El Financiero, El Nacional, El Columnista, E-Consulta, Revista de cine Kinetoscopio y Connexión-W Houston, entre otros.

Ha prologado más de 15 libros de la casa editorial México Soy.

En 1996, fue galardonada con el premio nacional de periodismo en prensa escrita en México.

En abril del 2021, el Leslie Center for the Humanities de Dartmouth College le otorgó un premio de Investigación Docente para escribir el libro Manos que Hablan, voces de las granjas lecheras del Upper Valley. En marzo del 2022, la O cina de Diversidad y Equidad Institucional de Dartmouth College le otorgó el reconocimiento Holly Fell Sateia, por su liderazgo en pro de la justicia social.

Actualmente, funge como asesora de La Casa y profesora de español del Departamento de Español y Portugués de Dartmouth College. Además, es cofundadora de la organización FUERZA Farmworkers’ Fund, concebida para apoyar las necesidades urgentes, los medios de subsistencia y el bienestar de las comunidades migrantes de las granjas lecheras del Upper Valley.
